Role: Child and Family Counsellor/Clinical Social Worker – In Person.
Attached Kids is dedicated to supporting children’s mental health and emotional development through providing counselling to children aged 0-18, parents, and families in Ontario. We are a growing private practice, supporting children and families experiencing symptoms of anxiety, adhd, ocd, emotion dysregulation, grief, attachment, trauma, family changes, and parenting support. We are currently providing counselling services in-person in Ottawa, and online services through secure video counselling. We are seeking a skilled child and family counsellor to grow with our team.

- Permanent role providing in-person counselling with flexibility to complete administrative work from home.

Requirements:
- Completion of a Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) required.
- Current registration and member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers required.
- Obtain a clear criminal record vulnerable sector check upon hire.
- Maintain Professional Liability Insurance.
- Ability to work in-person at our office in Ottawa.
Experience and Expertise:
- Minimum 3-5 years of clinical social work experience including social work assessment, treatment planning, and intervention within the 0-6, 7-12, and/or 13–18-year-old populations.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of a range of counselling/psychotherapeutic modalities with children and families including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Attachment-based interventions, Collaborative Problem Solving, Exposure and Response Prevention, and Emotion Regulation Skill Building.
- Demonstrated experience with biopsychosocial assessments to inform treatment planning.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Bilingualism (French and English) considered an asset.
Duties:
- Use evidence-based practices to provide social work assessment, treatment planning, and intervention to children aged 0-18 and families through in-person and online video counselling.
- Design individualized treatment plans based on assessed needs and client goals.
- Maintain up-to-date record keeping including clinical session notes, treatment plans, consultation notes, and summaries of closure.
- Engage children and/or teens, and families in online and in-person counselling interventions in areas including but not limited to anxiety, ADHD, OCD, emotion regulation, attachment, and trauma.
- Consult with external professionals including medical professionals, teachers, and other professional supports regarding assessment, treatment planning, and intervention as needed.
- Engage in regular clinical supervision and team consultation as provided.
- Uphold ethical guidelines for clinical social work including maintaining client confidentiality and privacy and upholding limits of confidentiality.
- Engage in regular professional development and stay up-to-date on research findings in the fields of child development and child and family counselling practices.
