Maggie’s Resource Centre of North Hastings promotes knowledge and understanding of violence against women, the cycle of violence and its effect on the victim and her children. Resources include crisis counselling, safe spaces, advocacy and empowerment for women.
Position Description:
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is the key management leader of Maggie’s Resource Centre of North Hastings (MRCNH). The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs, human resources, finances, ministry compliance, and strategic plan of the organization. The Executive Director serves as advisor to the Board of Directors, and as its primary representative to the community, community organizations, media, municipal administration and other levels of government and professional organizations.
The Executive Director’s role is a permanent position, with 24 to 28 flexible working hours per week. It reports directly to the Chair of the Board. Education and Experience
- Degree in social work and/or 5 years of progressive administrative and management experience in a not-for-profit community organization.
- Proven skills in all aspects of human resources
- Ability to work with the principles and practices of accounting, budgeting, and financial planning with experience in budgeting and grant programs.
- Experience partnering with multiple community organizations in the provision of programs and services. Knowledge and understanding of legislation, regulations and political astuteness relating to all aspects of community, municipal, provincial and federal environments.
- Experience in strategic and operational planning including building and expansion.
- A proven ability to champion and successfully implement change.
Skills and Abilities:
- Vision to forecast future needs within the community and plan accordingly.
- Ability to lead, manage and adapt to change effectively. Aptitude for creative problem solving.
- Understanding of the framework for women’s support services in Ontario.
- Strong technical knowledge including strong aptitude for technologies such as Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Proven organizational, analytical and project management skills
