Job Title: Clinical Therapist (Social Worker, BSW or MSW)
Type of Position: Full time Permanent
Position Location: Belleville Office
Pathways to Independence is seeking an experienced Clinical Therapist to join our Clinical Services Team.; Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, the Clinical Therapist (CT) works as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team to promote client-centered care through individual, couple and group interventions aimed to optimize health, emotional and social outcomes. With a trauma-informed lens, and an emphasis on the Social Determinants of Health, the incumbent will conduct comprehensive assessments of complex adults and will employ a variety of treatment modalities to promote adaptive functioning, inclusion, and psychological resilience. The Clinical Therapist will develop and deliver training and education to employees; evaluate individual and program outcomes; and collaborate with a variety of service providers to improve clinical trajectories.
The successful incumbent will be responsible for:offering a range of professional social work and therapeutic interventions consistent with one's scope of practice.
Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals and outcomes.
Provide individual, dyad or group counselling and/or psychotherapy (if authorized under legislation) to referred individuals.
Network with community-based service providers, to improve program outcomes, streamline workflows and strengthen partnerships, engage in advocacy with community resources to address discrepancies in outcomes and provide more comprehensive supports for people with complex needs.
Supervise staff on implementation of clinical therapeutic strategies, plans, and protocols, and provide feedback to employees, and performance information to employees;
Provide education/workshops to employees and participate in ongoing continuing education activities.
Develop, implement and evaluate new policies and procedures specific to therapeutic interventions.
Lead team communications with individuals and their families when complex dynamics are adversely impacting the provision of services.
Produce timely, comprehensive documentation in accordance with all agency, departmental and professional standards and guidelines.
Eperience and education:
Bachelor of Social Work degree from an accredited university.
Registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, or eligibility to become registered.
Demonstrated knowledge and 3-5 years experience working with adults with a developmental and/or intellectual disability, dual diagnosis, acquired brain injury and/or related mental health/addiction issues.
Understanding of diagnostic criteria and clinical experience in assessment formulation and report writing.
Knowledge of trauma informed care and the strengths-based approach.
Knowledge of a variety of treatment modalities and social work assessment tools (e.g. genograms, ecomaps, SWOT analysis).
Working knowledge of pertinent legislation.
Additional training specific to indigenous/cultural safety is an asset.
Experience with court, justice and/or child welfare systems is an asset.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including the ability to network with community-based service providers,
Demonstrated computer literacy.

Note: Out of town travel may also be required to meet operational demands.

Salary: Commensurate with experience on a Bachelor's scale, with an excellent benefit and pension program. This is an excluded position.
Note: This is a new position with a growing, innovative accredited agency. The incumbent will have some opportunity to shape the role and will report directly to the Director of Clinical Services.
