Offering a Relocation Support Program for successful candidates and their families to relocate to Niagara Region!

We are looking for Social Worker/Registered Therapists who are Master's prepared, completed their Qualifications and Registered with the College. Our services are in-person and if you are applying from outside of the Niagara Region we offer a relocation support program to assist you and your family with finding a new home and putting down roots here in Niagara. This is a unionized position.

We are looking for candidates to fill Social Worker/Registered Therapists - Permanent Full-time and Temporary Contracts - in the following programs:

Family Intervention:

Family Intervention provides individual and family therapy for clients aged 6-18 about a broad range of mental health issues. This program is an outpatient service with clients attending therapy either in person or virtually. The Family Intervention therapist will work with children/youth and families to collaboratively identify goals for therapy and use evidence based or informed treatment modalities for successful outcomes. The therapist may request the involvement of a specialized consultant such as a child and adolescent psychiatrist, pediatrician or psychologist. They will liaise with the clients’ education providers or other professionals to develop interventions across the domains of home, school and community.

Live In Treatment Services:

Live-in Treatment is a 24-hour intensive program. The therapist role at live in treatment services is to support youth who are participating in the 12-week program. The therapist is responsible for the weekly delivery of youth therapeutic group, parent therapeutic group, along with individualized therapy for each youth. The therapist also provides ad hoc therapeutic support as needed throughout the week, participates in monthly Plan of Cares, and supports in the development of goals to meet the therapeutic needs of each youth. The therapist role also provides outreach services to youth once they have completed the live-in treatment program to support with full reintegration home. This role does include frequent connection with community partners.

Outreach Services:

Pathstone Mental Health is seeking a Contract Full-Time Social Worker / Registered Therapist (Masters) for up to 18 months. This position requires experience working with complex clinical profiles including dual diagnosis, ASD and Co-morbid Mental Health, experience with the CPS Model and experience with an Ecological model of treatment and intervention.

Clinics and Brief Services:

This position entails providing evidence based/evidence informed treatment interventions in a group and individual capacity. You would be co-facilitating our anxiety clinics for children and youth as well as our Collaborative Problem-Solving clinics for parents/guardians/caregivers. Dependent on the need/demands for the various clinics there is the opportunity to carry a caseload of brief clients. Our brief solution focused program offers short-term individual/family therapy.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • M.S.W., M.A.;
  • Registered as a Social Worker with the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or Registered with the College of Psychotherapists;
  • 2 years clinical experience
  • Experience and / or training in evidence-based therapeutic interventions in assessments, individual, family and group therapy, and brief solution focused treatment;
  • Experience with CBT and DBT an asset;
  • Bilingual in (French and English) is preferred;
  • Experience working with the Aboriginal community is an asset;
  • Good communication and organizational skills;
  • A current Police Records Check within the last six (6) months;
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, able to supply own vehicle, and be insurable to drive in Ontario
