Case Manager

West Toronto Community Legal Services (WTCLS) is hiring a Case Manager to work with clients with complex needs.

The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to support clients who present with various mental health, physical health, addiction and psycho-social issues. The successful candidate will conduct intakes and assessments, and provide follow-up support services to clients. During COVID, some of the work is performed remotely, but all staff attend at the office at Bloor and Dufferin at least one day a week at present and the Case Manager is required to meet with some clients in the community. As the pandemic is brought under control, attendance at the office is the norm.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000 per year, plus benefits. 

Position Requirements: 

  • Master of Social Work (MSW) or a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree;
  • Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW);
  • Minimum of three years of experience working with clients with various complex needs, including clients that have significant mental health challenges; 
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, research, and advocacy skills; 
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse population of clients; 
  • Understanding of social justice issues, including poverty and its impact on housing stability; 
  • Strong assessment skills and ability to develop goals and service plans with clients; 
  • Ability to provide supportive counselling, psycho-education, crisis intervention, and safety planning to clients, as required; 
  • Ability to liaise and collaborate with other client service providers and stakeholders, such as landlords and family members; 
  • Strong knowledge of available community programs/resources and ability to conduct appropriate client referrals; 
  • Good computer and documentation skills.
