SENIOR SITE MANAGERS: EVA’S SATELLITE (CONTRACT) & EVA'S PHOENIX (FULL TIME, PERMANENT)

Eva’s Initiatives for Homeless Youth provides safe shelter, supportive services, and long-term solutions to youth homelessness. We believe all young people deserve safe, affordable housing, quality support, and access to the resources to reach their full potential.

Eva’s Satellite and Eva's Phoenix are transitional housing site where young people aged 16-24 live. They get their own bedroom with a key and access to shared spaces such as bathrooms, kitchens, and study areas. While there, young people develop critical skills to live independently through caring individual support, workshops, and hands-on programs. Phoenix leads Eva’s Housing Supports, supporting young people across the organization with housing searches and follow-up supports that ensure youth exit homelessness and re-integrate back into the community.

Responsibilities:

The Senior Site Manager is responsible for:

• he oversight of site services, facility, and programs at the respective site
• Support the Senior Director in formulating the vision, setting out the strategic priorities, and developing the strategic plans for Eva’s Initiatives, and implement the approved strategic directions.
• Support the effective implementation of sectoral guidelines such as Toronto Shelter Standards and provincial transitional housing guidelines.
• Manage all aspects of Eva’s program operations in accordance with the City of Toronto Shelter Standards and the values and principles of Eva’s Initiatives.
• Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the housing programs to include the intake and referral programs, manage the operations budget, manage the resource planning and talent development for housing staff and ensure all health safety requirements are effectively maintained.
• Establish key strategic partnerships to further Eva’s mission, and is a key liaison for government-related affairs.
• Ensure that an effective intake assessment for shelter and housing referrals are undertaken including - screening youth to assess appropriateness and fit to our services in addition to supporting the youth in their transition to sustainable housing.
• Oversees interaction with residents regarding complaints, violations, applications for housing, transfer requests, etc.
• Ensure the smooth and effective operation of shelter services froma youth centered harm reduction perspective.
• Demonstrated leadership ability to lead and inspire change, and to be able to set and delegate clear priorities in the development of teams and programs.
• Encourage creativity and collaboration, develop and sustain long-term relationships and partnerships, and foster entrepreneurial and innovative solutions to difficult problems.
• Ensure the site conforms with the cleanliness, safety and compliance guidelines as with the Ontario Health and Safety Act.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.

This position requires some flexibility in schedule, including evening work, weekends, as well as on-call responsibilities. 

Qualifications:

• Commitment to Eva’s guiding principles: Reflective, Learning Organization, Young People at the Centre, Relationship-Focused, Justice-Doing (www.evas.ca/about-us/) 
• Undergraduate degree in a relevant field or discipline (Social Work, Health Promotion, Public Administration, Social Services) and/or comparable work experience. 
• Minimum 3 years supervision experience in social services, preferable with youth
• Minimum 3 years’ experience managing operational budgets and reporting on outcomes.
• Expert understanding of substance use, mental health, and harm reduction gained through direct experience working with individuals, preferable youth. 
• Experience working from and anti-oppression and anti-black racism.  
• Experience working with homeless and at-risk youth, preferably in a transitional housing setting with sound understanding of related issues and resources. 
• Sound understanding of the issues facing marginalized, at-risk, marginally housed and homeless youth. 
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and support a diverse staff team. 
• Experience supervising a staff team utilizing a case management model. 
• Highly principled, adaptable, confident, and energetic leader with a high level of commitment to ending youth homelessness.
• An inspirational leader, with exceptional interpersonal, conflict mediation skills
• Experience working in a unionized environment. 
• Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills. 
• Proficient in MS Office Suite. 
• Valid G Class driver’s license with a clean abstract is an asset.
