Psychotherapist - York Region

The Southdown Institute, a 22-bed residential treatment facility, is seeking to add a team member to our multi-disciplinary team of mental health professionals. Our facility, built in 2013, is situated in a beautiful, natural setting in York Region, and is accessible from the GTA or Simcoe County. We are seeking to fill a full-time, permanent position, which includes a comprehensive benefits package and pension plan.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Clinician to provide individual and group psychotherapy within the context of a 14-week residential treatment program. The Clinician will also provide addiction education and addiction counselling, in both individual and group modalities. Provision of psycho-educational programs and participation in weekly case reviews is also required. Our treatment approach at Southdown is collaborative and holistic, and as such, comfort working in a team is necessary.  

Job Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a Master’s level graduate degree in a related mental health field (Counselling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Counselling), and will be eligible for registration for autonomous practice with their respective College. Individuals with clinical experience in addiction counselling and those holding a certificate in addiction counselling (from ICADC or similar) will be given special consideration. Bilingualism in French or Spanish is also considered an asset.
