Clinical Manager

Working under the supervision of the Executive Director the successful candidate will provide clinical assessments and treatment services for male and female adolescents in a secure and open detention/custody facility as well as conduct mental health screens, suicide and risk assessments for youth entering the facilities.  Duties will include creating treatment/case management plans and providing individualized counseling, targeting needs areas.  Must be capable of providing clinical consultation and direct supervision to front line staff. Sharing on call duties with other managers is also required.

EDUCATION:         

A Masters degree from a recognized University in the area of Mental Health, Social Work, psychology or counseling.

Candidate will be required to be registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers & Social Service Workers or the College of Registered Psychotherapists.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:             

Extensive experience working in the youth justice setting, particularly residential and management experience.

Experience developing and implementing cognitive behavioural therapies from a strength-based perspective for adolescents.

Broad knowledge of mental illness, diagnosis and treatment.                         

Strong clinical assessment and treatment skills                                             

Demonstrated clinical leadership, strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as a team leader.

Valid Ontario G driver’s license and offence-free driving record; Drivers Abstract required

Criminal reference check that is declared suitable for vulnerable sector employment

Valid First Aid / CPR-C certification

Current immunization status to national standards, including proof of prior Two-step TB testing

Bilingual (French/English)                             

6 months volunteer experience
