Social Worker, MSW

For our Mental Health and Addiction Regional Centre, the social worker offers brief interventions to clients who suffer from mental illness or concurrent disorders. The social worker works within a multidisciplinary team members and with various presenting issues. The social worker’s role is to provide brief, intensive interventions (counselling & psychotherapy), navigation & care coordination, psychosocial interventions and engagement of family within the care plans.

REQUIREMENTS:

-Master in Social Work.
-Member in good standing with Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).
-Minimum of three (3) years’ experience with a clientele that suffers from complex mental health issues.
-Expertise in cognitive-behaviour, interpersonal, narrative & solution focused therapy.
-Profound knowledge of mental illness, concurrent disorders and rural issues.
-Possess a working knowledge of both official languages.
-Capable of working in a multi-disciplinary and inter-professional environment.
-Expertise in the management of psycho-social issues and ease in networking and coordination of treatment.
-Expertise in the involvement of family members in treatment plans
-Play a key role as a guide/mentor/coach to team members on involving family members in care plans.
-Must hold a valid driver’s license, use of vehicle and insurance.
