Clinical Advisor

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:

Person who designs, implements, updates, analyses and assesses activities and provides guidance and counselling services in one or more social programs.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:

As clinical advisor, this person will provide support, assess professional activities and provide guidance and counselling to social workers and human relations officers from one or more social programs.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education:

  • University degree in social work;

  • If using the reserved title, the person must provide her/his employer with annual proof that she/he is a member of the Ordre professionnel des travailleurs sociaux du Québec;

     

Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in various fields and programs;

 

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Good understanding of psychosocial issues;

  • Ability to apply Eeyou/Eenou culture, values, traditions and teachings into programs and services where possible;

  • Ability in the identification and analysis of the professional’s needs;

  • Ability to communicate theoretical and practical knowledge, as applied to coaching and training;

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;

  • Autonomous, discrete and empathetic;

  • Team work capabilities;

     

Language:

  • Fluent in English and French.

  • Fluency in Cree is an asset;

     

Other:

  • Willing to travel to various communities.
