POSITION:                              Senior Manager Clinical Services

                                               Full-time, Permanent

 

LOCATION:                             636 Kennedy Road,

                                              Scarborough, ON M1K 2B3

 

REPORTS TO:                         Director, Client Services

 

DESCRIPTION:          

This position is responsible for the training and supervision of clinical staff (Clinical Counsellors, Walk-in & Intake Worker, Family Support Workers, & Wraparound Facilitators) and evaluation of ongoing clinical and program services provided by the agency. This position is also responsible for a high quality therapeutic intervention with clients, including crisis management, and recommending program improvements aligned with client needs and service and accreditation standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Manages a group of clinical employees; ensures appropriate training and performance; supervises employees’ case management and direct client support. Intervenes with serious client issues when required.                                     

  • Establishes service priorities to meet YouthLink’s strategic direction and community needs; identifies short and long-term goals; completes service and program reports; evaluates programs (including ASIST) and contributes to the improvement of service delivery.                                                              

  • Evaluates assessments and treatment plans; reviews treatment plans, end of service summaries, incident reports, trauma assessments, walk in reports and client files.                                                                                  

  • Completes staff attendance. Develops and monitors program budgets, expenditures and reports.                                                                       

  • Manages electronic data and supports CYSIS, BCFPI and ASIST, including overseeing training and certification.                                                                 

  • Collaborates with service providers (SASAT, developmental services Toronto).

  • Actively contributes to the Agency’s Strategic Plan by participating in initiatives and committees to support the overall Plan.

  • Takes all reasonable and necessary precautions to protect his or her own health and safety and that of co-workers by complying and demonstrating knowledge of the policies, procedures and safe practices established by YouthLink.

     

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:         

 

EDUCATION: 

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related discipline.

  • Training in individual psychotherapy and family therapy approaches/interventions and evaluation; trauma assessment and intervention skills; adolescent development.

  • Full member in good standing with a relevant governing body.

  • Significant professional development at the senior clinical and management level is preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Five (5) years clinical counselling experience.

  • Two (2) years management experience preferably in a non-profit unionized environment.

  • Experience with case management, crisis intervention and group facilitation.

  • Experience evaluating services and programs and providing creative improvements.

  • Solid understanding of strength based, client directed and brief intervention counseling techniques.

  • Knowledge of mental health, employment and support services for youth and families, and youth with a developmental-intellectual disability.

  • Knowledge of child welfare, family service act and directions of Ministry of Child and Family Services and Ministry of Community and Social Services.

  • Experience providing support to families and youth who have involvement with the youth justice system.

     

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:       

  • This position requires occasional evening hours.  This position is also required to participate in a weekend on-call rotation.

  • Minimal travelling required.

 

                                  

WORK HOURS:         35 hours per week
