Title: Coordinator of Employer Support

 

Overview of role:           

The successful applicant will have a unique skill set to help deliver a two-pronged Employment and Wellness Program that seeks to improve the ability of an individual who is struggling with addiction challenges, to obtain and maintain employment. The program also aims to build the internal capacity of employers who are seeking knowledge and understanding, in order to better support and retain employees who experience mental health and addiction challenges. The position requires someone who has the combined experience of, coaching, program development, employment law, employer accommodations, and human resources policy and best practices. Some regional travelling will be required as there is an outreach portion of this position, in order to aid potential employees and employers in finding relevant community resources for their aftercare support.

Experience with:

-          Employer consultation

-          Relationship building and outreach

-          On site employer HR support/mediation

-          Staff coaching and support to ensure job retention

-          Coaching around change management, skill building and professional development

-          Experience dealing with mental health and addiction in an employment setting while applying HR best practices and adhering to employment law and legislation

 

Setting:

The successful applicant will be employed by and work as a representative of Dalton Associates and deliver programming through partnership with the Region of Halton Employment and Social Services Division. This position will work out of the Region of Halton office and in the communities of Oakville, Burlington and Milton.

 

Dalton Associates is a province-wide psychological and interdisciplinary mental health practice comprised of registered Psychologists, Psychological Associates, social workers, psychotherapists, clinical counsellors, and behaviour therapists dedicated to the mission of making mental health services accessible to all Ontarians. Dalton Associates offers clients a wide range of psychological and mental health services in hundreds of locations throughout Ontario, in an effort to ensure accessibility, timeliness, and quality in receiving support for mental health and wellness issues.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Consulting with Employers
  • Onsite Job Coaching
  • Program and Guideline Development
  • Co-facilitating group therapy sessions from a developed program curriculum
  • Acquiring up to date training on Employment Standards
  • Attending and participating in weekly case conferences
  • Attending and participating in program development meetings
  • Performing multifaceted general office support (e.g., faxing, scanning, mailing, etc.)
  • Scheduling and coordinating meetings, interviews, events and other similar activities
  • Other administrative duties as assigned
  • Communicating directly with other program staff

Employment Terms: Full-time (35 hours/week; Monday to Friday)

 

Compensation: Commensurate with qualifications and experience

 

Qualifications: 

  • Certified Human Resources Professional, with a solid understanding of employment law, relevant legislation and HR best practices.
  • Experience with mental health in the workplace
  • Degree in Social Work and RSW designation considered an asset
  • Professional experience in Addictions, Mental Health, Program Administration, and Evaluation would be an asset
  • Detail-oriented
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with experience in stakeholder consultation
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently problem solve and multi-task
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated high computer proficiency, including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
