We are actively seeking Clinical Therapists for our Northern Zone area of Nova Scotia. 

 

Responsibilities

Our Clinical Therapists provide assessment, treatment planning, evidence-based interventions, and crisis management for clients. In addition to those duties, the Clinical Therapist has the opportunity to participate in quality initiatives in the program of care, engage in collaborative person-centred care, and utilize available information technology to support best practice. The Clinical Therapist receives and provides supervision and mentorship. It is an expectation that the Clinical Therapist will act in a professional and ethical manner, following all recognized codes of ethics, standards, legislation, and guidelines relevant to clinical practice and profession. They will convey respect and a solid understanding of subtle and complex diversity and inclusion issues as they relate to specific groups. Our various areas of opportunities include: Child and Adolescent, Adult, School-based and Crisis and Urgent Care Services within our Mental Health and Addictions teams.

 

Qualifications

• Masters degree in a clinical health-related discipline (Masters in Social Work, Psychology (Registered with a Masters or PhD/PsyD), Masters in Counseling, Masters in Nursing or Masters in Occupational Therapy). We may consider candidates who have completed course work and are awaiting convocation/graduation.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure with the respective licensing body (Nova Scotia College of Social Workers (NSCSW); Nova Scotia Board of Examiners (NSBEP); Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists (NSCCT); Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN); or Nova Scotia College of Occupational Therapists (COTNS)).
• Two years’ relevant clinical experience required. Candidates with less experience may be considered on a developmental classification pay scale with opportunities for training and development. 
• Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

Hours of Work

Positions vary from full time, part time, temporary assignment or casual relief.

 

Salary Information

Clinical Therapist: 

$36.04 - $47.38 hourly

Clinical Therapist (Developmental):

$32.14 - $40.59 hourly

 

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan (permanent and long assignments only).

 

Successful candidates may also quality for incentives including signing bonus and moving expenses.
