JOB SUMMARY: The Manager of Resources reports to and works under the direction and supervision of the Director and adheres to the guiding values of the Code of Practice. The Manager of Services has responsibility for managing the effective development, implementation, and operation of Ogwadeni:deo’s service programs within the agency’s mandate, policies and procedures.

 

The Manager of Services will be responsible for ensuring that child protection services are delivered in accordance with the Child Youth and Family Services Act (CYFSA), Ontario Child Protection Standards and Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS), Eligibilty Spectrum to assess and determine eligibility for service and Child in Care Standards, as well as the framework, policies, procedures, vision, mission and values of Ogwadeni:deo.  The Manager of Services will be responsible for managing client complaints in compliance with the complaint review process as outlined in the Ogwadeni:deo Policies and Procedures and the Child Youth Family Services Act (CYFSA) and also within the policies and procedures established by Six Nations of the Grand River.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a Master of Social Work (MSW) Degree from a recognized school of Social Work and must have a minimum of 3 years  of current work-related managerial experience in child welfare with a focus on alternate care
  • OR
  • Must have a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree from a recognized school of Social Work and must have a minimum of  with 5 years of current work-related managerial experience in child welfare with a focus on alternate care and a willingness to work towards an Master of Social Work degree
  • Must be in good standing as a registered member with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers
  • Must a valid Ontario class “G” driver’s license
  • Must submit a favourable criminal reference check and vulnerable sector screening
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends, on call
  • Will be Ongwehonweh in preference to other applicants
