SOCIAL WORKER / SERVICE PLANNING COORDINATOR – BILINGUAL (French-English)
Permanent Part-time Flexible (22.5 hrs/week with potential for additional hours pending weekly needs)
THRIVE Child Development Centre is an incorporated, non-profit Children’s Treatment Centre employing 50 staff made up of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech-language pathologists, social workers, therapy assistants, early childhood educators, program and support staff. We provide inter-disciplinary pediatric rehabilitation, respite care, an on-site child care program and resource support to community child care centres in Sault Ste. Marie and throughout the District of Algoma. Our strengths-based philosophy of service delivery upholds family involvement and enablement as an integral part of effective intervention. Our services support the long-term outcomes of community participation and quality of life.
The SW / Service Planning Coordinator is responsible for supporting families of children and youth with multiple and/or complex special needs by acting as the identifiable point of contact, connecting them with the right services, and being responsible for developing a coordinated service plan that recognizes all of the child/youth’s strengths and service needs internal to THRIVE and across the service system.
We currently require one permanent part-time SW / Service Planning Coordinator to support families in Sault Ste. Marie and the Algoma District. As the successful candidate, you will have a post-secondary degree in Social Work and will be in good standing with the OCSWSSW. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience working in a family-focused way; ensuring children, youth and their families have a voice and are engaged as partners in care. The successful candidate will have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle. The ability to communicate in both official languages would be preferred; however, all otherwise qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.
