The KFHT is currently recruiting one 1.0 FTE Social Worker and one 0.5 FTE Social Worker to join our mental health team.

Position

• Provide direct counseling, therapeutic interventions and education and to individuals, couples and families

• Conduct comprehensive Social Work assessments

• Design individualized treatment plans based on presenting concerns

• Develop and facilitate groups

• Function as an effective member of a multidisciplinary health care team

• Liaise and consult with relevant community agencies and service providers

   

  Qualifications

• MSW

• Specialization clinical

• Current Registration in good standing with OCSWSSW

   

  Experience

• Minimum 5 years in full time practice in a mental health setting

• Training and familiarity with evidence-based practice models/theories such as: cognitive behavioural therapy, brief solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, crisis prevention and intervention, addictions counselling theories and others

   

  Familiarity and comfort dealing with:

• Anxiety, depression, stress management, divorce /separation, injury/recovery, job loss

• Life cycle issues (with a focus on work with adults)

• Couples and families

• Group work

• Health promotion activities

   

  The Ideal candidate:

   

• Works independently within a multidisciplinary health team

• Has positive and collaborative interactions with social workers, physicians, nurses and other staff

• Has excellent computer skills and experience working with an Electronic Medical Record

• Has excellent oral and written communication skills

• Has the skills necessary to expand and strengthen community partnerships
